Ravenous Wolves that Smile

Rick Warren has embarked upon a campaign to bring Christians and Muslims to a greater understanding and appreciation of each other. He has attended Muslim events, spoken to Muslim groups, and even ate the meal that observed the breaking of the fast associated with Ramadan.
Read about it here.
Christians should build bridges to lost people, in fact our lives should always reflect Jesus without having to make it an organization. But a bridge built without the gospel is not just a bridge to nowhere, it is a bridge to a lost eternity. I abhor the hatred that so many professing believers openly show for Muslim people. It is outrageous and in no way reveals the teachings and heart of the Savior. Much of it can be attributed to a fallen spirit of nationalism and embracing the country over the teachings of Jesus.
But what Warren is doing is unscriptural and gives the Muslims a false hope. You see, when you compromise based upon good intentions, the initial compromise begins to grow and expand. That is exactly why believers are not to have close friends who do not share their faith in Jesus Christ. How many people have struck up a friendship with a Mormon only to find that they are warm and friendly, and in that environment they begin to consider Mormonism?
A preacher once said, “It is never right to do wrong in order to accomplish a right”. he was correct. In fact, what Warren is doing countermands Scriptural principles and foreshadows what the antichrist will accomplish during the Tribulation Period. I do not suggest that we take the gospel and stuff it down people’s throats, but when you agree not to share the gospel you not only become a stumbling block, but you besmirch the glorious labor at Calvary.
Building bridges without the gospel are earthly and of the flesh. Long ago Rick Warren began to compromise and this pattern increased in scope and in depth. And today Rick Warren holds much influence over millions of professing believers. He is very dangerous spiritually, and his wealth and winsome personality only add to the effectiveness of his deception. He is deceived and he is leading others into his deception.
Men and women died because of the gospel. Refusing to share it is to reject it on some level. Why would God give such grace to the martyrs as they went to their deaths, but he allows millionaire preachers like Warren to live a life of popularity among believer and unbeliever alike? He doesn’t. Warren calls his Muslim neighbor “my Muslim brother”. The entire spectacle is in a word “cowardice”.

Mk.8:38 - Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.

Be aware, brethren, that sometimes ravenous wolves have a wonderful smile.
